Pakistan batsman Faqir Zaman’s runout in the second ODI between Pakistan and South Africa has become controversial. Zaman (193 off 155 balls) batted brilliantly for Pakistan, who came into the ring for a massive 341-run target chase. He fought tirelessly as the teammates reached the pavilion one by one and took the match to the last over.
With 31 runs to go in the final over, Zaman ran out as he came close to a double century. However, Pakistani netizens have accused Zaman of running away from South African keeper Decock for acting contrary to the spirit of the game. Zaman tried to make two runs off the first ball of the last over. The fielder who received the ball .. threw the ball to keeper Decock. Decock, however, gestured that the ball was moving towards the non-striker rather than towards him. With this, Zaman looked back. Zaman was run out as the ball came straight and hit the wickets. The Pak lost by 17 runs.
