Delhi Police petition to court
New Delhi: Witnesses and victims in the Sagar Rana murder case are under threat from wrestler Sushil Kumar, Delhi Crime Branch police told Rohini Court. Police said in a petition filed in the court that Sushil Kumar could use his money and power to influence witnesses. Sushil Kumar has been on the run for almost 18 days. Sushil Kumar and his accomplice Ajay were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days last week.
Police told the court that the wrestler’s case was very sensitive and was widely publicized in the media. Police said four of Sushil’s accomplices arrested in the case had criminal histories. The court asked that witnesses be provided with security. Sushil Kumar was shifted to the high security ward of Tihar Jail. The paramilitary force was on guard along with CCTV cameras at the ward where Sushil was staying.
