New Delhi: Team India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been given the opportunity to captain the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL this time. Shreyas Iyer was carrying the reins of the team when Iyer was injured in the ODI against England. In his place, the management appointed Pant as the new captain. DC will take on Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the 10th of this month. Pant looks a bit tense in the background.
Speaking on the occasion, Pant said that his first match as captain was with Mahibhai and he was under a lot of tension. He said that he has learned a lot from Dhoni and it will be a good experience for him.
Pant said he had learned something from Dhoni as well as his experience as a player and would use it in the match against CSK. Pant Dheema said that all the players are mentally strong and will win their first IPL title this time. The coach thanked the team management for giving him the opportunity to captain. Pant said that the team has not won the title so far and this time he will try his best to win it.
