In the wake of heavy rains and floods in the state, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has asked district collectors and SPs to take immediate action on a war footing and alert the authorities.

Telangana Rains alert – CS Somesh Kumar: In the wake of heavy rains and floods in the state, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has directed district collectors and SPs to take immediate action on war footing and alert the authorities. CS reviewed the flood situation today (Thursday) in a joint teleconference with 16 collectors and SPs from Adilabad, Khammam, Karimnagar and Warangal districts. The Chief Secretary has directed to set up control rooms in the district centers. It was suggested that the situation should be reviewed from time to time and appropriate action should be taken to prevent any loss of life or property.
CS Somesh Kumar suggested that the people of the hinterland should be shifted to safer areas if necessary. Special attention should be paid to drinking water, power supply and sanitation. He said the government was ready to provide all kinds of assistance as needed. The district collectors have been asked to contact Special Secretary for Disaster Management Rahul Bojja in this regard.
DGP Mahendra Reddy, Irrigation Department Special Principal Secretary Rajat Kumar, Lieutenant Colonel Kamal Deep, DG Fire Services SK Jain, Panchayati Raj Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Disaster Management Special Secretary Rahul Bojja, CMD NPDCL, Gopal Rao, Panchayati Raj Commissioner Raghunandan Rao, Irrigation Department Engineer-in-Chief Muralidhar Rao, NDRF Officer Damodar Singh and other officials were present at the conference.
