AP local bodies sworn: The rule of sarpanches in the gram panchayats of Andhra Pradesh will start from today. It is learned that the Panchayati Raj Department has already given notification for arranging the first meeting. As a result, sarpanches and ward members from all over the state are going to be sworn in today. As a result, from today, the newly elected sarpanches and ward members will be officially in charge. With the ZPTC and MPTC elections coming into force in the rural areas of the state, it was decided to end the program modestly.
Meanwhile, gram panchayats have been functioning under the auspices of special officers for almost two and a half years. During January-February this year, elections were held in four tranches for 13,097 gram panchayats across the state. Currently, Panchayati Raj Commissioner Girija Shankar has issued a gazette notification to hold the first meetings with the newly elected members on April 3 in all the Gram Panchayats across the state.
With this, the rule of sarpanches will continue in the villages again. The swearing in of the sarpanch and ward members will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday.
