Karachi: Former Pakistan cricketer Rameez Raja is all set to take over as Pakistan Cricket Board chairman. A decision to this effect is likely to be taken at the Board of Governors meeting on Monday (tomorrow). Ehsaan Mani, who has been in the post till the end of his three-year term, resigned on August 25.
PCB Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed will conduct the election. Also, preside over a special meeting. Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is part-in-chief on the board, also nominated Rameez Raja and senior bureaucrat Asad Ali Khan for new members of the board of governors. However, Rameez Raja’s election as PCB chairman is said to be almost certain. The PCB said the new chairman would speak to the media immediately after the meeting.
