The government owes over Rs 3,000 crore to rice farmers
Pawan Kalyan alleged that the state government was in arrears of over Rs 3,000 crore to the paddy farmers, saying that they would deposit the money in the farmers’ accounts within three days of the purchase of the grain. Pawan Kalyan criticized the state government for not paying the farmers for the grain harvested during the rabi season, even though months have passed since the harvest. Pawan Kalyan lamented that the YSR Congress party has been failing to pay grain money to farmers since it came to power.
Will the ruling party leaders threaten the farmers who asked for hard work?
Pawan Kalyan, who said farmers in both the Godavari districts alone owed up to Rs 1,800 crore for grain bought during the rabi season, demanded to know why details of grain purchases were removed from the government’s website and why the government maintained confidentiality in the matter. Pawan Kalyan said it was wrong for the ruling party leaders to threaten the farmers who asked for their hard work, adding that the Janasena party would continue to fight for the farmers if they did not pay their dues by the end of this month.
It is your honor to divide the farmers even party-wise
Earlier, he had reminded the government that if a farmer in Kakinada initiates welfare schemes for farmers, he will be disappointed and deposit the farmers’ money. Asked how the farmers would invest in agriculture if the Rabi season was not paid, Pawan Kalyan criticized the YCP government for dividing the farmers party-wise. Pawan Kalyan said that the party’s colors were deteriorating due to the crop being harvested, the food being eaten and the YCP government was pursuing anti-farmer policies.
Janasena fight on behalf of farmers if arrears are not paid by the end of the month
Pawan Kalyan expressed impatience that the government was lagging behind in taking action against counterfeit seeds and pesticide traders. Pawan Kalyan blamed the government’s attitude on Crop Holiday for declaring that farmers in Konaseema villages could not cultivate their crops due to non-receipt of money, loan disbursements and non-payment of crop compensation. Pawan Kalyan said the YCP would fight the government, which is also politicizing the issue of farmers, and warned the government that Janasena would fight on behalf of the farmers if they did not pay their dues by the end of this month.
