- ECB order for trial
London: The England Cricket Board (ECB) has ordered an inquiry into ODI captain Morgan and wicketkeeper Butler. The ECB took the action after racist comments they had made in the past went viral on social media. Morgan and Butler tweeted ‘Sir’ to humiliate Indians. Rajasthan batsman Butler (94 not out off 53 balls) was involved in the match against Mumbai in the 2018 IPL. Morgan tweeted, “Sir,” praising Butler. Butler also responded to Morgan’s tweet saying ‘Sir’. Just days after pacer Oli Robinson was suspended for anti-racial tweets in 2013, Morgan and Butler’s comments came out and the ECB issued an inquiry into them.
