26 new districts in AP ..?
Amravati: The sector is ready to form new districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is learned that the Committee of Officials has sent proposals to the government for the formation of 26 districts on the basis of Lok Sabha constituencies. Information that the Committee of Officers has sent proposals for the formation of a total of 57 Revenue Divisions. It is learned that proposals have been made to set up 9 new revenue divisions and abolish 3 divisions. The YSR Congress party had promised to form 17 new districts in AP during the last elections. The YCP has said in its party election manifesto that it will make every parliamentary constituency a district.
It is learned that DGP Gautam Sawang had issued orders last November to stop transfers in all departments of the police department. Sawang made it clear that the state government should not transfer anyone from a constable to a senior official at a time when new districts are being formed. He said the decision would take effect immediately under the purview of the General Railway Police, CID, Intelligence, APSP as well as the Range and SPs of the security forces.
