Jagan Sarkar MOU with Amul
Jagan Sarkar had earlier signed an MoU with Gujarat co-operation giant Amul. Accordingly, the government along with AP Dairy has announced a target of development in the dairy sector in the state. The government has said it will run government dairies in the state with Amul’s cooperation in the MoU. But it is a situation where Amul is charging corporate-style money to run our dairies. The government is investing in Amul as part of its agreement with Amul Dairy.
Raghurama Petition on Investment in Amul
YCP rebel MP Raghuram Krishnan Raju has approached the high court against the AP government’s investment in Amul Dairy. He also questioned how the government was investing in Amul, a private dairy. With this, the issue became a topic of discussion. Raghuram argued that the government did not agree to the terms for investing in Amul, which was a plunder of public money to private companies. The High Court heard the petition and issued key directions.
The High Court directed the Jagan government
The High Court erred in finding that the AP government had invested in Amol Dairy as per the MoU. As part of the agreement with Amul, it ordered that no funds be spent. The court directed the National Dairy Development Board to issue notices to Amul in Gujarat to comment on the matter. The High Court adjourned the case till May 14. Amul also seems to be stuck with this.
Raghuram welcomed the High Court orders
Petitioner, YCP MP Raghuram Krishnaraja expressed his displeasure over the interim orders of the High Court in the Amul case. He said that the funds were not spent on the MOU with Amul and welcomed the directions given by the High Court. Raghuram Krishnaraja said that he hopes that justice will be done to the people of AP. Raghuram Raju, who is currently out on bail granted by the Supreme Court in the AP CID treason case, is continuing his fight against the AP government from Delhi.
