Ahmedabad: Delhi Capitals is on the rise in the latest season. Openers Shikhar Dhawan (69 not out off 47 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes) and Prithviraj Shah (39 off 22 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes) opened the innings. Delhi beat Punjab Kings by 7 wickets on Sunday. Also reached number one with 12 points. Batting first, Punjab scored 166 for 6 in 20 overs. Mayank Agarwal (99 not out off 58 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes) made his debut as captain. Rabada took three wickets. In the ensuing chase, Delhi won by 167 runs for 3 wickets in 17.4 overs. Mayank was named Man of the Match.

As usual, Delhi started a sample incision. In the second over, Prithviraj Shah struck 6,4,4. He also scored 6.4 in the sixth over. Dhawan scored 63 in the team power play with 4. But Harpreet Brar bowled Shaw off his first ball. After that, Smith (24) and Pant (14) were at the crease for a while but Dhawan worked for the bat. Fifty off 35 balls with 6,4,4 in the 14th over. With 19 balls to spare, Hetmeyer finished the match with 6,6,4 in the 18th over.
