The website crashed shortly after a large number of people tried to log in to the Covin portal just moments after the registrations began on the Covin portal. Many people are impatient with the problems with the Covin server. For a few, the registration was completed without any problems. However, it has been revealed that there are currently no issues with the registration on the Covin portal. According to Central Health Department sources, 80 lakh people registered their names in the first three hours of registration on the Covin portal.

The slot is being booked only for those who have crossed 45 years in the ongoing process based on Aadhaar and other identity cards. The Center has already made it clear that pre-registration is mandatory on the Covin portal or the Health Bridge, Umang app. Vaccines are not given if you go directly to vaccination centers without registration. Vaccines can only be obtained if there is an appointment at a particular center.

These are the guidelines for vaccine registration in Kovin. 1) First log in to the Kovin portal (cowin.gov.in) and register your mobile number. That immediately gets the OTP to the phone. 2) Enter the OTP and click on the Verify button. If all goes well, the ‘Registration of Vaccination’ page opens. 3) Enter the details like photo identity card, name, date of birth and click on the Register button. 4) Once registered, there is a facility to select the date for vaccination. For that you need to click on the schedule button next to it. 5) If you enter the zip code and search, a list of vaccination centers will appear under it. Select the date and time based on them and click on the Confirm button. Appointments can be made for up to four people on a single login. There is also the option of changing dates. It is also possible to register for the vaccine on the Health Setu app.
