The surveillance at international airports has been further tightened as gold smuggling from abroad is on the rise. Recently, foreign gold has come out heavily in Chennai and Hyderabad. Authorities have now seized foreign gold at the Cochin International Airport. Customs officials seized nearly two kilograms of gold from three lady travelers from Sharjah to Kerala. The gold was turned into a paste and the paste was filled into capsules in an attempt to hide them in the back door.
