Mohammad Shahabuddin: Former RJD MP Shahabuddin Corona of Bahubali, Bihar has died. He is serving a life sentence in Tihar Jail for murder. Shahabuddin, known as the leader of Bahubali, has made a name for himself in the criminal world. Shahabuddin entered the criminal world in 1986 at the age of 19. He then became active in politics at the age of 24-25.
Tribhuvan Narayan became an MLA in 1985 after winning the elections on a Congress ticket. Shahabuddin is going to jail in a criminal case. On one occasion, Tribhuvan Narayan Singh openly said that he would not support thugs and criminals. Shahabuddin then decides to run independently in the 1990 Assembly elections. In that election, Captain Tribhuvan defeated Narayan Singh.
5 years later Lalu Prasad reunited with Yadav. Muslim-Yadav voters seized. This led to a landslide victory of the Janata Dal in the 1991 Lok Sabha elections. In the 1995 Assembly elections, Shahabuddin became the second MLA from Jiradei. The following year, he won the 1996 MP election and was elected to the Lok Sabha. Shahabuddin used fear to break the dominance of the left in his area.
Chhote Shukla, a leftist leader, was kidnapped and killed. He then contested on the RJD ticket in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections and became an MP for the second time. At the same time, Shahabuddin was convicted in the Shukla murder case. In 2007 the court sentenced him to life imprisonment. Shahabuddin was later banned from contesting the election. Even then Shahabuddin fielded his wife Heena Shahab twice (2009 and 2014) but she lost twice. Corona was sentenced to life imprisonment in Tihar Jail. He was rushed to a hospital in Delhi where he succumbed to his injuries.
