Vikram to start Socrates film before Saamy 2

Chiyaan Vikram is on cloud nine after the success of his first sci-fi thriller Iru Mugan which is doing very well. Post this film, the actor was supposed to start director Thiru’s Garuda but due to some budget issues, the film has been temporarily stalled for sometime now and the actor was expected to start his next with director Hari’s Saamy 2 which was announced last month.

But now sources say that Chiyaan has been confirmed to play the lead in director Socrates’s upcoming film who directed Bramman with Sasikumar. The film is said to be a rural based film and the story is set in Tenkasi and the team will go on floors in six months. A source in the know tells DC, “Vikram was impressed with the script, but he wanted the director to wait for a year till he completed Iru Mugan. He also asked the director to move on with another film as he did not want Socrates to wait doing nothing. But, as promised, Vikram called back a week before Iru Mugan’s release and gave his official nod to the script.

Kajal Aggarwal who missed out on Iru Mugan and the recently Garuda being pushed has been signed on to play the female lead for this flick too. This untitled film will be on the likes of Saamy and Dhool ,and the actor will be sporting a moustache for his role in the film. Produced by Silverline Film Factory, the team is finalising the rest of the cast and technical team. The official announcement regarding the movie will be out in another week. Stay tuned.
