Vaaimai Movie review
We have witnessed many films where judge wil announce the punishment for a criminal but in Vaaimai, special jury team helming the criminal case to unravel the case with perfect brainstorm. This new fangled concept handled by the auteur Senthil kumar. Lets see the detailed fulcrum of this Venture.
A innocent widow lady been arrested for murdering a political personality, and whether that lady gets justice in favour of her or not is the remaining story.
The entire movie is shot inside a court room which is a gritty attempt by the filmmaker, the judge after mulling the murder case decides to handover the case to accomplished jury team of twelve members. The first half is quite decent with subtle brainstorm sequences of the Jury team, the plethora of veteran artists have essayed role of jury members ( Goundamani as doctor, Ramki as jury mentor, Urvashi, Thiyagarajan as Army man, Manoj as Writer). The first half ends in subtle manner with decent interval block.
Post interval sequences becomes tedious by lacklustre dialogues, less impressive screenplay. Second half fails to enthrall audiences due to less impactful depiction of the murder mystery. The mystery behind the murder is executed in old fashion way and climax ends up in a tedious fashion without any twist and turns.
The entire cast have done decent justice to their characters, especially Poornima, Shanthanu have portrayed a innate performances.
The positive elements are the commercial ingredients are not injected,, execution of the plot with precise running time of 95 minutes. Many veteran artists had very less scope to score and they didn’t had meaty role to play which is a main downside of this flick. Less impactful climax with lacklustre execution in second half are another downside.
Technical crew have done a subtle job, Especially cinematography, editor, composer.
Verdict- Average Crime venture packed with less intense screenplay.
