Thodari Movie review
Filmmaker PrabhuSolomon has helmed multitude of feel good romantic flicks with ease in his hitherto outings, but his recent venture Thodari is quite different which showcases more of comedy and thriller, packed with small pinch of romances starring exquisite duo Dhanush and Keerthy in lead characters. Thodari is packed with ravishing locations and shot entirely in train , core plot revolves around the train journey. After working with many new faces, Prabhu Solomon has teamed up with midas touch and most happening star dhanush which acts as a subtle pre-release buzz for this projects. Lets see the brief facets of this project.
The storyplot showcases the train journey which commences from Delhi and ends in chennai. The tussle between Train driver and his aide causes major chias and how the protagonist stops the fast moving train to avoid big accident is the remaining story.
The flick starts in subtle fashion with neat witty sequences where Thambi ramaiah had humongous onus to evoke laugh riot and he delivered it with ease. His comical expressions and dialogue delivery were enjoyable which induced laugh riot till the climax. The lead pair Dhanush and Keerthy love scenes in first half were less but was subtle. After heaping comical elements, the core plot kick-starts towards the interval block with interesting sequences.
The post interval portions showcases more of suspense but lacks gripping ingredients towards the end. The comical elements acts as driving force for the second half where thriller scenes were canned in witty manner which evokes laugh roit throughout the flick. Despite of plethora of logicless stunt scenes and less intense visual effects, the comical elements played a substantial role which induced driving force. The romantic song in the pre climax portion must be removed to enhance the screenplay. Filmmaker PrabhuSolomon’s erstwhile flicks had sad ending but this outing had happy ending where lead persona are joined in the climax.
Dhanush had less scope but performed well by his magical screen presences. The veteran artists such as Thambi ramaiah, Radha ravi, Harish uthaman, Venkatesh, Karunakaran have essayed a solid performances. The female lead Keerthy had less meaty character but her innocent act was adorable.
The positive ingredients are comical sequences which come out well, pleasing background score by imman. The injection of thriller and comedy were in perfect mix. The downside are the wrong song placement in both the half, quite draggy second half, logic-less stunt sequences and poor visual effects.
Filmmaker must have excluded song in the pre climax portion, must have added good quality visual effects. The fight sequences should have been executed in innate fashion.
Verdict- Time pass train travel tale packed with more witty ingredients.
