Directed by S.J.Surya, which portrayed Ajith in dual roles for the first time opposite Simran, became one of the biggest hit during the time period, It’s about a deaf and mute brother setting his eyes for his younger brother’s wife. With Ajith portraying of the two brothers won him his first of many FIlmfare Best Actor Award. Furthermore, Ajith portraying of the two brothers was also praised with critics claiming that the film was an instant classic.
Directed by Saran, featuring Shalini, with he married shortly after the film. In Amarkalam, Ajith was shown as a neglected child who grew up and fails to show feelings of love or affection and becoming a gangster in the process. Ajith’s depiction of his rough character was appreciated by critics.
5. Kandukondein Kandukondein
Directed by Rajiv Menon, in ARR’s musical, Ajith was casted along with other prominent actors Tabu, Mammooty, Aishwarya Rai. Ajith played as a struggling film director facing on oscillating relationship with Tabu, with the pain being unanimously praised for their roles. Kandukondein-Kandukondein was not only favourite but favourite of Kollywoond fans.
Ajith portraying in ten different get-ups for the first time and it became a commercial success at box office. Ajith’s performance is subtle but he shows a lot of emotion and their storyline is one of the highlights of the film.
A remake 1980’s Rajinikanth starrer of the same name. Critically praise for Ajith, becoming a trend-setter for stylish. Yet again, Billa features Ajith in a dual role, one of a notorious don whilst the other played an innocent person who’d to act as the don. This movie is one of the biggest hit and proved once again that Ajith can deliver in any avatar.
The star’s 50th film. In this Ajith was featured as a full length negative role as Vinayak Mahadev. He broke the stereotype hero image in Tamil Cinema for his decision to portray a character with negative shades. Landed by the critics terming that out and out Ajith film and worked only because of him. Mankatha became the financially successful venture.

Considered as the Gautham Menon’s Police Trilogy, Ajith paired along with Trisha and Anushka while Arun Vijaykumar did the antagonist. A commercial blockbuster hit it proves again that Ajith is a versatile actor.
As you can see this salt n pepper star not only well in action but in drama and comedy as well and he always look fabulous doing it. Of course there are many more great performances we could’ve included on this list. We might not have picked yours, but to us, there are aces in Ajith’s fantabulous career.
